Sick KoiIt is not pleasant but we have to point out a few issues when it comes to dealing with sick Koi.
Please note.
Rule #1: Unless you have several million rand in your bank account do not, ever, bring a live or a dead Koi, or any other fish onto our premises. You will be shown the door with scant regard or respect for your situation and you will not be welcome back.
We go to considerable expense an effort to contain our quarantining procedures in a way as to protect our investment in our business of live Koi. To have this put at risk by a sick or dead fish being brought onto our premises is simply not on and we simply ask that you respect this.
In terms of general dealing with sick Koi our philosophy is one of empowerment. You are the primary care giver to your Koi and as such it is you who needs to know what is going on, what to treat for and how to treat for it. It goes with the territory of keeping Koi.
So as such we don't do Koi health consultations since we simply do not have the time if the truth be told. However, we will bend over backwards to help you learn what you need to know to solve the problem yourself.
Note that that there are other excellent online resources that are truly world class in terms of fish disease diagnosis and one of the best is www.koivet.com. Take a look if you are suspicious of something on your Koi and then come have a chat to us.
